NORED Electricity Pty (Ltd) wishes to inform its esteemed stakeholders, customers, and the general members of the public that Mineworkers of Namibia (MUN), a trade union representing our employees in bargaining unit, has commenced with an industrial action (strike), effective, today, Thursday, 26th February 2026, at 07h30, at ALL Our NORED Offices.
We anticipate that this action will result in reduced staff availability, which may impact our ability to timely respond to power failures, maintenance and operational issues, vending service, non-answering of calls in the call centre, delays in processing of payments, and other customer service requests.
As an essential service provider, our priority is the safety of our communities and the continuity of the electricity supply to our customers. We have activated our contingency plans to minimize the disruptions of the services and ensure that essential services are maintained and remain operational during this period. However, customers should prepare for potential delays in maintenance and longer repair times for outages.
